bikini is coming. that is not new, but it is good and we wait for it. after all my friends left the city west from berlin and moved to hip mitt than prenzlauer berg than friedrichshain, they might have to move back…. if they can afford it. the place to live for urban hipsters in real is the hansaviertel, a project by international architects like alvar aalto, egon eiermann, walter gropius, oscar niemeyer, sep ruf etc. the bikini haus is just a bit older than the hansaviertel and a project by architects paul schwebes und hans schoszberger. so because the bikini house get’s a make over (a huge one) all the light shines now to charlottenburg and tiergarten? no that’s not all.
the cinema the zoo palast is back as well, prettier than ever and with this former famous cinema the berlinale film festival is back to charlottenburg as well. all the poor visitors, trapped at dead end potsdamer platz the last years, now back to the glamour place.
the exclusive waldorf astoria took place (don’t know how to describe it in other words) next to the gedächtniskirche, the gedächtniskirche is almost ready to get presented after her “little” make over, the clock is already and finally back to work.
co berlin is coming and opening in february 2014what was missing was a cool bar… but let me tell you, we are ready to go. the 25h hotel opened and with it, it’s bar the monkey bar. the bar is gorgous! the view is unique!
i went with my good friend mark and had a lovely evening watching the sunset over the gedächtniskirche and later the zoological garden while sipping ice cold taittinger and having a bit of three variations of humus ( classic, beet root, mango curry) with pita bread.
didn’t expected it to be that cool, so did not bring my camera, all pictures made with the phone, sorry
