shift

last week i had a photoshoot with a new marketing agency.
with agency people it often turns out to be a quite difficult job, but no, it was all easy going and relaxed and we had a lot of fun. So here is the result (see even more pictures on flickr)

the creative shift is a marketing agency of the new generation of agencies. they are not .com, they are .is that is a statement on it’s own and it says a lot. they do not play in the pool of standard packages of marketing projects, they create a statement for a (may be your) company. the creative shift makes sure that your statement is heard and seen. just take the double meaning from the word.

shft.is

– they do the work and they bring the change.

two people, christian oblasser and tobias wallitschek, both experienced marketing warriors, founded the creative shift. there is also the graphic specialist thomas haase and a trainee. the creative shift is not anymore about being big, it is about being flexible. both of them wanted to do more of the creative work, the strategy, the forward shift for a project and they work together with a bunch of great freelancers.

inside shift

part 1 // christian about the agency

why “shift”?

christian: The name “The Creative Shift” offers two dimensions. On one hand it stands for the creative change, on the other it means that everybody can find their creative co-workers in this modern form of a live communication agency, wether they are clients or co-workers.

what is the idea behind shift?

christian: We believe in the creativity of the crowd.

what is different of shift compared to others?

christian: The conventional model of an agency tries to concentrate all creativity and knowledge inhouse. All projects and creative processes are born in some sort of a black box inside the agency. The necessary co-workers – and in case of live communication these are a lot – move at a very late stage into the project. A lot of knowledge and creativity get lost. We involve them – and often the client too – at a very early stage of the conceptual process.

why another agency, aren’t there enough in berlin?

christian: There is enough of nearly everything in the world. It is more the question of how it is handled. So a new model of co-working is everytime a good idea.

why is shift in the western part of Berlin?

christian: Our idea of an agency is hip enough. We do not need a hip place. And we see a great opportunety in the old western part: cosy cafes, normal stores for everything, less show around. Plus: a lot of inspirational institutions move to this part of the town too. For example the C/O photo gallery. And the new Bikini project around Gedächtniskirche will attarct even more creative people.

tell me about the team behind shift.

christian: … hmmm … we love our work …
