Café Valentin – Swedish Delights in Neukoelln

Café Valentin - Swedish Delights in Neukoelln

Café Valentin and its Swedish delights are well known in the blogosphere and every blogger going to Neukölln will mention it. It was actually meant to be our first stop on the tour

Apart from being very popular, Café Valentin conveys, in a lovely form, the Swedish way of living – the coziness, the simplicity, the love for natural materials and of course the love for good food, like kanelbulle, smørrebrød(smörgås) and many more delicious things. As soon as you step into the little cafe you already feel welcome.

While kanelbulle might seem to be the same as the cinnamon rolls you could find in almost every new Café in Neukoelln und Mitte, they are actually different. Just try them. Comparing kanelbulle with Cinnamon rolls is like comparing smørrebrød(smörgås) with Berliner Stulle. Neither the look nor the taste is similar, even though they both  have their roots in simple, homely food.

I wish I had more time and will definitely come back.
