#marakech #travel It was built in the late 19th century, intended to be the greatest palace of its time. The name means “brilliance”. As in other buildings of the period in other countries, it was intended to capture the essence of the Islamic and Moroccan style. There is a 2 acre (8,000 m²) garden with rooms opening onto courtyards. Set up at the end of 19th century by Si Moussa, grand vizier of the sultan, for his personal use, this palace would bear the name of one of his wives. Here, the harem, which includes a vast court decorated with a central basin and surrounded by rooms intended for the concubines. As the black slave Abu Ahmed rose to power and wealth towards the end of the 19th century, he had the Bahia palace built by bringing in craftsmen from Fez. wikipedia this place is what you expect when you travel other countries, garden, architecture, beautiful wooden and stone craft.
#berlin #interior have you ever arrived at a place and just breathed out in relief? the sigh of “here i can feel good”? the flat from anna & christian is one of these places. full of light, a friendly place – if a place itself can be friendly, than it is their flat. just as i like it, lot’s of old furniture combined in the most creative way with modern and even ikea furnitures and diy. the furniture follows the needs of the family, and are not a statement. this is a new project of mine. photographing men with beards. why do i think photographs from men with beards are interesting? have you noticed the trend of hairy faces lately? not only the hipsters are having beards suddenly, no, lot’s of men let their hair grow. the interesting thing for me is that it change the way we see people. and how to judge their look and fashion. seeing a guy with old sneakers, jeans, a rough parka and a huge beard could be everything: an independent film director, a plain hipster, or a homeless man. and i like that. i like that the “uniforms” from us become blurred in our mind, it is not easy anymore to put someone in a box on first glance. So I am giving you pictures from amazing people i see (some i know personally, some not) and you don’t know something about them, only that they have a beard! see more pictures on flickr be bold or italic, never regular!
