marrakech is worth a visit, i fell in love with that city and met wonderful people as well. i like to stay at the sofitel palais imperial. if i would come for a longer trip i would stay at peter kerry’s flat for a more individual feeling.
but the sofitel is always a good decision and worth every penny. don’t get confused by the reviews of marrakech in the internet. I read them and almost cancelled my trip. the idea to travel on my own to marrakech after i read the reviews was just scary. but it is like everywhere. if you behave polite and sensible you can have the most nicely experience. I had a great time and no problems at all. I was dressed sensible and i wouldn’t recommend to walk on your own in the night through every part of marrakech, but then i wouldn’t recommend that in parts of berlin, ramsgate, london, copenhagen, amsterdam and even stuttgart.
The staff from the Sofitel is so friendly and helpful, the food delicious, the pool area amazing, the welcome on the room was absolutely sweet (dates, tea confect, roses, etc.)
